Today I finally finished trimming my pom poms and completed my Valentine’s Day wreath. I tried three different methods to make these pom poms, my fingers (ouch), cardboard and a set of Darice pom pom makers. I still can’t figure out the diagram on the Darice set lol. Honestly if it didn’t hurt my fingers so much I like the way those turned out the best. Alas, the cardboard method won and I made several small, medium and large for the wreath. I did not have a wreath form on hand so I used one of my frozen pizza cardboard pieces. Whenever we have frozen pizza, I keep the cardboard inserts. They have come in handy more than once.
To make the heart form I folded the cardboard in half and penciled in half a heart shape. To keep it steady while I cut I secured it together with a paper clip. I then gave it a quick coat of pink craft paint, punched the hole at the top and pulled the ribbon through. I did the ribbon first because once the pom poms were glued on I may not have been able to find the hole I made for hanging.
Before I started hot gluing the pom poms on the wreath, I played around with the layout. I finally decided on this one.
Initially I only had one row of white and pink. When I held it up I saw more pink from the form than I wanted to. So, I added the extras where the form was showing through, while trying to keep both sides balanced. I think it turned out cute. It is so soft I want to lay my head on it. I’m thinking some pom pom pillow making is on my list of things to do

Welcome! I'm so happy to see you here and hope you enjoy many visits to Bliss Farm. Although this is a brand spanking new blog, I've been blogging for almost four years. Amazing how time flies! I love blogging and I'm on a continuous journey to have the home of my dreams. I also love crafting, reading, cooking, and I'm reality show junkie. My biggest challenges are my teeny tiny budget but I find it adds to my creativity (most of the time) and trying to live as organic as possible.
On a personal note I have a fifteen year old son that I homeschool , a twenty five year old daughter (still living at home) and a fluffy princess cat named Bella.
Very cute! I love that it is an inexpensive but fun decor item. Thanks for sharing!
So cute! Love pink and white for Valentines Day and I always love a good wreath!

so sweet and pretty! I have so much yarn but nearly as much patience to make that many pompoms, but oh how good it looks!
I know about patience with the pom poms, they are so pretty but a pain to make!
Cute wreath! That’s a gorgeous shade of pink!
