Just before the holiday season started, my mom and step dad gave me their Cherrywood dining table. I love it because it easily seats eight and can handle ten without any big space issues. However, with my old table (that I’m now using in my office) I have never needed to worry about not having a tablecloth or placemats. With the Cherrywood, a water drip or a warm plate will leave a nasty white mark in 2.5 seconds. I didn’t have any issues during the holidays because I had the right coverings. After storing all of the holiday linens I ran into a problem. My everyday tablecloths didn’t fit the longer new table and I only have two non-matching placemats.
The solution?
Shelf liner from the Dollar Tree! I was lucky to have bought these some time ago. I had on hand two full rolls and one that was partially used. If I had three full rolls I would have gotten the six placemats that I wanted. I was able to cut five. They are probably a little smaller than store bought placemats, but they do the trick…
A big plus is that they can be easily wiped clean. If you didn’t need placemats one roll on its own would make a perfect sized table runner. I’m thinking these would also be a great idea for entertaining outside this summer
At a dollar a roll, you can’t go wrong!

Welcome! I'm so happy to see you here and hope you enjoy many visits to Bliss Farm. Although this is a brand spanking new blog, I've been blogging for almost four years. Amazing how time flies! I love blogging and I'm on a continuous journey to have the home of my dreams. I also love crafting, reading, cooking, and I'm reality show junkie. My biggest challenges are my teeny tiny budget but I find it adds to my creativity (most of the time) and trying to live as organic as possible.
On a personal note I have a fifteen year old son that I homeschool , a twenty five year old daughter (still living at home) and a fluffy princess cat named Bella.
This is kind of brilliant! And definitely try a table runner or make pieces for outside. So smart!
Thank you!
Super smart idea! I love that you can cut them into any shape.
That is a big plus and you are left with a clean edge
